Curriculum
The SMARTSTART curriculum is designed to support early childhood teachers and teacher candidates in integrating machine learning (ML) concepts into early childhood education in a developmentally appropriate and pedagogically meaningful way.
The curriculum is delivered via the SMARTSTART Moodle platform and includes structured courses, hands-on activity examples, and teaching materials focusing on machine learning in early childhood education.

To support computational thinking skills in early childhood,
To strengthen teachers’ pedagogical and technological competencies,
To promote the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in early learning environments.
Online Course
The SMARTSTART Online Course follows a 14-week structured curriculum designed to progressively introduce machine learning concepts in early childhood education.
Throughout the course, participants progress from basic knowledge to pedagogical integration and classroom application. The 14-week curriculum provides a systematic, developmentally appropriate, and practice-oriented learning pathway for early childhood teachers and teacher trainees.
